Teneil Pollock and her family are loyal clients of free tax preparation services offered by Real$ense.
About six years ago, Teneil’s parents saw an ad for the Real$ense program and thought it would be a great service for her. Now, her entire family makes getting their taxes prepared quickly, easily and free a family affair!
“We show up early but we’re usually done and out by lunchtime,” said Teneil Pollock, who says they have become pros at making sure they take all the right documents and forms with them to the tax prep.
“When we were just starting to work with Real$ense, we forgot a couple of things and the tax preparers were so nice – helped us identify what we were missing and were great when we came back with all our papers.”
Teneil appreciates the helpfulness and experience of the volunteers.
She, her siblings and her now-retired parents use the Real$ense tax preparation services at the Main Library in Downtown Jacksonville. She works in Orange Park refers her friends and co-workers in Clay County to the program. “I tell them you can’t beat a free service – and it’s great!”
Before Real$ense, Teneil says they did what they had to do to get their taxes done. “But with Real$ense we save money – it really is a help.” Her parents are happy to have the help as they are now on a fixed income. And Teniel, who got married a couple years after she heard about Real$ense says the program makes her life easier.
“When I married my husband, he didn’t know about the Real$ense program,” said Pollock. “When I told him that I had been using the program for so long, he said he was happy he married me. Now he goes with me to get our taxes prepared.”
