All workshops FREE, unless a charge is noted. Please register at least two days prior to the workshop date.
Workshop Descriptions:
Money Smart: A 11-hour series covering spending plans, saving, credit, consumer protection issues, financial institutions and accounts. Qualifies as an IDA -required financial education course. Participants may attend the full series to receive a certificate or simply attend the classes of interest. Offered by UF Extension, War On Poverty and Jacksonville Urban League.
Fresh Start: A 6-hour class for managing checking accounts. Completion of this course qualifies you to open an account at a participating financial institution if you have been denied opening an account, want to learn how to avoid fees on current accounts, or have never had an account before and want to do it right. Also covers budgeting to reach your goals.
Home Buyer Education: Before you purchase, find out about the process. Avoid predatory lending and learn to make wise choices. Cost: $50.00.
